This cursed form...

A weary and injured traveler, the Listener stumbles across a decrepit and terrifying mansion. With a storm coming, he stumbles into the garden, where the master tends to his garden. When he wakes up, the kind master allows the Listener to stay until his injuries heal, with only one rule, to never leave his room at night where without fail, monstrous roars echo faintly through the halls.
Weeks pass and the pair fall in love, or at least they seem to before the master of the manor suddenly arranges for the listener to leave the next day. In an act of defiance, the Listener shallows their fear and ventures out of their room, only to end up chased through the halls by something of nightmares.
