Premise: A couple who has been married only for a few years is facing separation. One of them is on hospice at their home. They have one child who is now a toddler. This scene is one of the partners in bed and the other is reading to them. They are going to try and be intimate one last time.
The listener is the partner on hospice and the narrator is the partner who is not ill.
