The reading of this poem was long over due. I first heard the lovely /u/la_vraie_vie read it and I was completely blown away and had to do a reading of my own. Dylan Thomas is a brilliant poet, love this poem it's very intense and yet beautiful. I've always been at a loss for words when it comes to poems and yet I like to write my own poetry haha. I hope you enjoy this. I acted a little bit if you couldn't tell btw, I was nervous and acting sort of helps me read more steadily.
In Memory of W B Yeats by W H Auden
I read two of my own poems because I'm looking for feedback and want to see what people think of it. I love poetry and have been writing since highschool. I hope I did ok and I love all the poetry readings people do on here. I hope you enjoy.
Maybe some of you might have heard my voice before and might remember me. (Or not, doesn't even matter.) I haven't really recorded a whole script in, oh boy, I think almost 2 years now. But recently I stumbled over this incredible piece written by the absolute treasure LittleLadyofT.
These words moved me to my core and already halfway through reading, I just knew I had to pick up my mic again and give this a spin. The connection I felt to it was as intense as the writing itself and I cannot begin to tell you how much I loved every word and emotion it made me feel. Hopefully I was able to do the dearest Lady's words some justice.
Feel free to listen to my version of this beautiful and bittersweet memorial.
