Summary: At lunch with your shy, "down on his luck" friend (the speaker) he mentions a passing interest in your magic to improve his fortune.
You (the listener) are an accomplished practioner of what many label "witchcraft", but few believe your powers to be genuine, your friend included usually.
You agree to cast a charm on him in a week's time and he can't wait. Neither can you, since you'll finally prove yourself to him.
But when the day arrives, there's something different about him. The timid, soft spoken man is now extravagantly dressed, flirting shamelessly, and seems absolutely certain of your magical aptitude.
Maybe this is all just a coincidence. Certainly nothing worrying has happened. Right?
